Requirements for provider machines
Use the self-test in the ONAGER provider add-on to check your machine’s requirements for GPU VMs.
- Operating system and GPU
- For the provider software (Host-Agent): Linux with an NVIDIA GPU. For the provider service for GPU VMs: Ubuntu 24.04.
- Drivers and virtualisation
- NVIDIA drivers with working nvidia-smi, CPU virtualisation, KVM and an active IOMMU. The GPU and its audio function must form their own IOMMU group.
- Memory and disk space
- The self-test checks for at least 200 GB of free disk space and RAM of at least 0.95 × VRAM.
- Software for GPU VMs
- QEMU, libvirt and OVMF. The provider service also requires Python 3.12 or later, cryptography and OpenSSH.
- Mac machines
- Mac machines require a booking period of at least 24 hours and are restricted to permitted Apple development services. Inference templates are not available for Macs.
